I lay out books in all genres, from novels to legal guides to children’s books. Standard project deliverables include a print-ready PDF, an EPUB file appropriate for distribution on its own or for conversion to Amazon Kindle format, and the InDesign source files for both.

Complex Layouts
I specialize in implementing complex layout designs and adapting existing designs to fit new content. Layout projects like workbooks, catalogs, and highly visual reports require great attention to detail to keep the text, images, colors, and layout harmonious throughout the publication. I make use of grid systems where possible to organize content and keep the layout consistent, and I make full use of Adobe InDesign styles, parent pages, and scripts to optimize the layout workflow.
Interactive and ADA Compliant PDFs
Is your organization required to meet ADA criteria for digital publications? By creating accessible content, you can reach a wider audience and make sure that your information is usable by all. I am experienced in remediating PDFs for ADA compliance including defining document structure, tagging, and writing alternate text. I also design documents in InDesign with accessibility in mind, which makes the PDF remediation much easier!
Proofreading and Editing
I offer proofreading and editing services so you can be confident sending off your work for publication! In addition to editing for grammar and style, I also have a knack for spotting inconsistencies in content and design.
I have extensive experience editing educational and instructional materials, in which clarity and accuracy are the main focus. I’m also experienced at editing academic and research materials, including standardization to adhere to a particular manual of style.
